Swansea Council Take Delivery of Eight New NTM Refuse Collection Vehicles.

Swansea Council has taken a major step forward in modernising its waste collection services by investing £1.4 million in eight state-of-the-art refuse collection vehicles from NTM. The delivery of the latest vehicles takes the Council’s total investment to more than £ 8 million and has seen a total of 35 new waste collection vehicles on the streets of Swansea during the last 12 months.

With the new waste collection vehicles now in operation across Swansea, the council is reinforcing its ability to provide residents with reliable and efficient waste collection services. The new fleet enhances performance, reduces maintenance downtime, and supports the city’s long-term environmental goals.

Cyril Anderson, Cabinet Member for Community in Swansea Council, said: “When we approved our annual budget for 2024/25, we committed to investing more than £8 million towards fleet replacement and I’m delighted this is now taking place.

“These collection vehicles travel vast distances over the lifetime of our vehicle contracts.

“It’s important that we ensure our fleet of waste collection vehicles are renewed and can provide us with the reliability we need to provide weekly collections for residents in the city".
