The Simpler Recycling policy is being introduced by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) with the priorities to reduce the volume of waste that ends up in landfills and to improve the quality of recycled materials by reducing contamination.  This point is particularly crucial as contaminated waste can readily become non-recyclable, making it more challenging to manage and more costly to process.

Workplaces must efficiently separate the required waste streams and decide upon their preferred waste collection process before 31 March 2025 (or in 2027 for micro-firms with fewer than 10 employees), so the clock is ticking!
